Replies and DMs, by rules you approve once

Routine questions get the reply you approved, filled in from your own data. Everything else comes to you with a checked suggestion.

As of November 7, 2026: the rules, the suggestions and the inbox are built. Sending on Instagram waits for Meta's review of ai:ing's app. Until then you copy the checked reply and send it in the Instagram app.

What can be answered automatically

Five kinds of message, and only these:

  • What does it cost?
  • Do you ship to my country?
  • Where can I buy it?
  • How do I use it?
  • A thank-you for praise.

Never automatically: complaints, reports of a reaction to a product, health questions, threats, legal matters, people who seem to be minors, negotiations, and anything the checks can't place. Those always go to a person.

How a rule works

  • You sign each rule once: the kind of question, the product, and the fixed reply in English, German or both.
  • The reply has gaps, and each gap is filled only from its source: the product and its price from your catalog, the countries from where you sell, the conversation's own checkout link.
  • At the moment of sending the text must match your approved reply exactly, or it comes to you instead.
  • Each rule has a daily cap and active hours.
  • The first automatic message in a conversation ends with your approved line saying the reply is automated.
  • Just before a reply goes, ai:ing reads the conversation again. If a person has already answered, it cancels its own reply.

When a rule pauses itself

When complaints after its replies pass the rate you set, when you mark one of its replies wrong, when a message that needed a person follows one of its replies, or when wording it uses is withdrawn. Your list says why in one sentence. You resume it with one tap, and the resume is recorded with your name.

Practice before you switch on

From the first day, every message a rule could answer is also answered in practice: ai:ing records what it would have sent while you reply yourself. Practice results then reads, for example, "would have sent the same reply as you in 47 of 50 cases", and shows each difference side by side. It is evidence, not a gate: you can switch a rule on whenever you choose.

Comments that ask for a link

A post can invite a word, such as "comment WHICH ONE". A comment with that word on that post gets one private reply, from a rule you signed, within the 7 days Instagram allows. No other comment ever gets a private message from ai:ing, not even a buying question.

Instagram allows replies in a DM for 24 hours after the customer's last message. Inside that window a rule may answer. After it, only a message you type yourself; ai:ing shows short points beside the box, never a finished message.

TikTok

Public replies to comments on your videos, with three clearly different texts so TikTok doesn't see them as spam, are built and come with TikTok's review of ai:ing's app. TikTok DMs can't be read or sent by any app for accounts in the EEA, Switzerland or the UK; paste one into ai:ing and you get a reply that has passed the wording check.

€3 a month for each brand.

Paid once a year, so €36. You add your own AI key, and that provider bills you. If ai:ing runs your ads, it takes 4% of what they spend.
